Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 July 2026
TODO(legal): this policy must be written against India'sDigital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). The previous version cited GDPR and CCPA but never the DPDP Act — the law that actually applies. There is no turnover or headcount exemption: small size is not a defence.
1. What we collect
When you book a demo class or contact us, we collect:
- Parent's name and student's name
- Phone number, and email address if you give one
- Curriculum, grade and subject of interest
- Preferred centre or online
TODO(legal): add what is collected once a student enrols — attendance, assessment results, class recordings, payment records.
2. Why we collect it
To arrange your demo class, respond to your enquiry, and — if you enrol — to deliver classes, track progress and process fees.
3. Children's data
TODO(legal) — important. Most of our students are under 18. The DPDP Act requires verifiable parental consent for processing a child's data, and prohibits behavioural advertising directed at children. This section needs specific legal attention.
4. Who we share it with
TODO(legal): name the processors actually in use — the class platform, payment gateway, analytics and any messaging provider — and what each receives.
5. How long we keep it
TODO(legal): retention periods for enquiries, student records and recordings.
6. Your rights
You may ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and withdraw consent at any time.
TODO(legal): describe how to exercise each right, and our response timeline.
7. Cookies and analytics
TODO: describe analytics in use. Note — the GA4 property inherited from the old platform has not yet been confirmed as belonging to Knowleggia.
8. Grievance Officer
TODO(legal) — required. Name, designation and contact details. ⚠️ The previous policy named deepak43545566@mailinator.com — a public disposable inbox belonging to an unrelated party. That must never reappear.
